Fred Armisen early life
Fred Armisen was born on December 4, 1966, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He is the son of Hildegard, a German immigrant, and Fereydun Armisen, an Iranian immigrant. At the age of eight, his family moved to Valley Stream, Long Island, New York.
Armisen attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and studied film and video. He then became a stand-up comic, performing in clubs and colleges throughout the United States. He also played drums for the ska-punk band Trenchmouth from 1992 to 1996.
Armisen’s early television work includes appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, as well as a series of appearances on the MTV game show Remote Control, where he served as the announcer for the program’s final season.
He was also a cast member on the sketch comedy series Upright Citizens Brigade from 1998 to 2000. In 2004, Armisen began appearing in the recurring role of bandleader Horatio Sanz on the late-night talk show Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
