Career

Mahima Nambiar started her acting career at the age of 15 when she appeared in the Malayalam movie “Kaaryasthan,” playing the sister of Dileep in a minor role. She mostly served as a model for commercials in the beginning of her career.

In 2010, she was offered a role in “Sindhu Samaveli” by director Samy, but she had to turn it down for personal reasons. She was thus recommended by the production crew for “Saattai,” her first Tamil film, in 2012. She was still in the 12th grade when she remarkably accepted the major role of Arivazhagi, a country schoolgirl, in the movie.

After “Saattai,” Mahima took a year off to finish her education before reentering the acting industry. She had four Tamil film appearances, including “Ennamo Nadakkudhu” (2014), in which she played the nurse Madhu. She went on to work on several other films, including “Mosakutty” (2014), “Puravi 150cc,” directed by Venkat (a Cheran associate), and “Agathinai” (2015), which was helmed by Marudhu.

Notably, Samuthirakani’s “Kitna” signed Mahima Nambiar to play a dual part. At the Toronto Tamil International Film Festival in 2021, her exceptional work in the movie “Magamuni” garnered her the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Performance in the Best Supporting Actress category.
