Yogi Adityanath received his primary education at a local school in Ghazir, Tehri. He pursued his undergraduate studies with a major in Mathematics at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand.

Early Life

Yogi Adityanath was born on June 5, 1972, into the Gharwali Rajput family in Uttarakhand. His original name is Ajay Singh Bisht. His father, Anand Singh Bisht, was a forest ranger. He received his education at local schools in Pauri and Rishikesh. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna University.

Career

Yogi Adityanath’s entry into politics began when he was entrusted with managing the campaign for Mahant Avaidyanath’s elections. In 1998, when Mahant Avaidyanath retired, he nominated Adityanath as the candidate from Gorakhpur. Yogi Adityanath successfully won the Lok Sabha seat from Gorakhpur in the elections, becoming the youngest member of the 12th Lok Sabha at the age of 26. Following his initial electoral success, the party established its Youth Wing, the Hindu Yuva Vahini, which garnered significant controversy and contributed to the perception of Yogi Adityanath as a right-wing populist Hindutva firebrand.
